Couldn’t wait to post this. Again, old school imagery c/o Lunar & Planetary Institute.
I think the repeating horizontal(ish) lines are transmission artifacts, while the gash across the middle of the image is damage sustained by the print before it was scanned. Puts me in mind of the old two-razorblades-in-the-back-of-a-toothbrush trick.
More Tom Waits than witchhouse, this.

21st of August , 1966 before a concert in the Butsch Memorial Stadium in St. Louis.
You can see Paul with both his Hofner 500/1 and Rickenbacker 400/1s which was a backup for the concert but did not end up being used. George is also in the photo with his 1964 Gibson SG.
